Win a pair of Sofia Coppola NYC Talk tickets!

As Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla wows Venice, with a 7 minute standing ovation and the Venice film festival award for Best Actress awarded to Cailee Spaeny, the upcoming release date has been bumped up to November 3rd by A24 and 26th December for the UK by MUBI (what a Boxing Day treat for us!).

UK fans can see advance screenings of Priscilla showing at the BFI’s London Film Festival with screenings held on the 9th and 10th of October at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. Remaining festival tickets go on sale to the public on the 12th of September.

We wanted to celebrate Sofia’s latest work as well as her amazing new archival book published by MACK which takes a look back at Sofia’s career and her influential body of work, taking the reader through her process of her 8 films from The Virgin Suicides all the way through to Priscilla. Within the book, with pages of behind the scenes photos, annotated scripts and collages, all with notes by Sofia, there is an ‘extended interview with renowned film journalist Lynn Hirschberg’. This extended interview in the book, also translates to real life as the two women take to the New York stage in conversation. The Strand Bookstore (shout out to the tote bags seen in On The Rocks) are hosting the talk at Cooper Union with tickets that promptly sold out on Eventbrite.

We were fortunate enough to snag a pair of tickets that we are giving away to one lucky winner to attend the talk on Saturday 16th September at 7pm, the doors open an hour earlier. No books are included with the tickets, these are for the talk only. Please leave a comment below or comment on our relevant Instagram post. The giveaway will close on Wednesday 13th September at 22:00 UK time, 17:00 EDT, 16:00 CDT and 14:00 PDT.

Do not despair because if you are not able to purchase a book on the evening of the talk or have not preordered your copy already, Sofia is attending a book signing held at the delectable BookMarc store located on Bleeker Street, on 17th September from 3-5pm (get there early!).
